Compiling on windows

David Machuca - Posted on 05 October 2010

Hello everyone
I have succeeded compiling SGeMS on windows in debug mode. The resulting executable runs fine, but when I try to run the executable produced by compiling in release mode I get this message:

The procedure entry point ?fromAscii_helper@QString@@CAPAUData@1@PBDH@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library QtCore4.dll.

The QtCore4.dll file is in the directory:

Any suggestions? thank you very much for your help in advance.

It usually means that you have another version of QtCore4.dll somewhere in your system and it can be found within the PATH env. variable before the one you installed. Search for that file to test my hypothesis. The easiest way is to add your QTDIR\lib directory in the front of the PATH env variable.
The problem was I had installed another version QtCore4.dll belonging to QT (2010.04). I did as you suggested and uninstalled the new version of QT. Cheers David
